PDI has secured a hotel block with discounted rates for program participants and their families at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe. Our discounted rate for the Hilton is $229 per night for up to two guests in either a double room or King. For 3-4 guests sharing a room, the cost will be $239 per night. We have also arranged for you to receive the following amenities:
- Free breakfast
- Discounted on-site parking
- Free evening ‘Kickback’ receptions
- Free soda and popcorn
Although you may choose to book at another hotel, you likely will not find any at this rate, or with discounted parking, near the old-town historic plaza area. The Drury is a very short drive to the studios where we will be holding classes and workshops, and a five-minute walk (about four blocks) will get you to the Lensic Theatre, where the students will be attending the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet concert on Saturday night. You will also be within walking distance of the city’s major tourist attractions and restaurants.
Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe
Located in the heart of downtown Santa Fe, the Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe sits adjacent to St. Francis Cathedral, which was built by Archbishop Jean Baptiste Lamy between 1869 and 1886. Lamy arrived in Santa Fe to become the first archbishop of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. Just two blocks from the historic Santa Fe Plaza in downtown Santa Fe, the hotel is within walking distance of amazing cultural attractions like the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, the Santa Fe Community Convention Center and fantastic shopping and dining venues. The Drury is also just 10 miles from Santa Fe Municipal Airport (SAF), so perfect for a stay before your travels.
For those students 14 years old and above wanting to share the cost of a room, the PDI staff will help coordinate the process of matching up roommates. All costs shared between students will be their individual responsibility. If you are potentially interested in this option, there will be a place for you to indicate so as part of the online application.
Students attending with a parent or guardian are responsible for their own transportation to and from the airport upon arrival and departure. Students ages 14 and above may choose to attend on their own. Students attending on their own are responsible for the cost of transportation to and from the airport. Institute staff will ensure that they share a ride with other students attending on their own, or with another family to carpool. Santa Fe is accessible to air travel through two airports, the Santa Fe Municipal Airport and the Albuquerque International Sunport. Albuquerque is about an hour’s drive south of Santa Fe. Major car rental companies are based near the Sunport, with free transportation running between rental pick-up and return lots and the airport every five minutes. The Sandia Shuttle service provides transportation between the Albuquerque Sunport and Santa Fe. The RoadRunneR Shuttle and Charter provides door-to-door service. The Rail Runner train connects Albuquerque and Santa Fe as well.
The Santa Fe Municipal Airport is on the outskirts of Santa Fe and a short drive to any of the town’s destinations. However, it is a very “cozy” airport with limited in- or out-bound options. Avis Car Rental and Hertz Rent-a-Car provide shuttles from the Municipal airport to their facilities once you arrive.
Ground Transportation from the Airport
Uber and Lyft are both available in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Santa Fe’s taxi service is Capital City Cab. They provide rides only in response to calls to (505) 438-0000.
